Job Description
As a Financial Analyst at Nava, you will be pivotal in driving the financial success and operational efficiency of our projects. You will serve as the primary point of contact for project-level financial operations and analysis, collaborating closely with company and project executives, internal business partners, and the finance and accounting team. Your responsibilities will encompass client invoicing, preparation of estimates-at-completion (EACs), financial planning and analysis (FP&A), project control, financial reporting and modeling, and providing crucial decision support for your portfolio of projects. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will be an integral member of our Finance and Accounting team in our remote-first environment, contributing significantly to our continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive program and project control support for monthly close activities, including in-depth variance analysis of key financial drivers.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Contracts, and Program Managers to ensure accurate and timely preparation of client invoices.
- Develop and maintain accurate Estimate-At-Completion (EAC) reports and provide insightful budget vs. actual analysis.
- Conduct thorough contract and subcontract administration, including monitoring funding levels and detailed project analysis.
- Reconcile unbilled balances, provide updates on overdue invoices, maintain the Billing Master file, and contribute to timesheet reviews.
- Prepare high-quality executive presentation materials and conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
- Establish strong partnerships with Program Managers and Directors to understand their analytical needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive monthly financial reports to program and company leadership.
- Collaborate across programs to develop dynamic financial dashboards that track key KPIs and facilitate issue resolution.
- Coordinate with program leadership to ensure project execution aligns with budget plans.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, ideally within growing professional services companies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and build rapport with various stakeholders.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and directives.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex modeling, pivot tables, and macros), Google Sheets, pricing software, and financial analysis tools.
- Solid budgeting and forecasting skills with an understanding of cash flow management.
- Proven analytical and financial modeling skills, with knowledge of financial statements.
- Experience in performing financial management tasks and reviewing work for accuracy.
- Experience in tracking, monitoring, reporting, and overseeing project cost, schedule, and performance.
- Demonstrated experience managing team efforts across multiple contract environments.
- Excellent time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- High level of personal integrity, strong ethical principles, self-motivation, and the ability to foster mutual respect.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growing environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must meet any additional requirements stipulated by government contracts.
- Requires work authorization that does not necessitate visa sponsorship.
- Must be based in the U.S. and work from within the contiguous United States.
- May be subject to a government background check or security clearance.

Compensation and Perks:
- Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year
