Data Analyst – Anti-Corruption & Rule of Law – Kuwait
Join UNDP and Nazaha to Strengthen Governance Through Data Analysis
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) seek a skilled Data Analyst. You will play a vital role in Kuwait’s anti-corruption efforts. Your work will involve analyzing governance data and designing corruption perception surveys. These insights will inform policy and strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Management
You will identify and retrieve datasets on anti-corruption, rule of law, and governance. This data will come from international and national sources. You will also liaise with partners to obtain and update data regularly. Furthermore, you will clean, preprocess, and consolidate data into standard formats. Finally, you will develop and manage databases and train staff on their use.
Indicator Analysis and Benchmarking
National data will be compared to international standards. This will help identify gaps and strengths. Moreover, you will develop dashboards and visualizations to aid data interpretation. You will also monitor at least 18 international corruption indicators, such as the CPI and Rule of Law Index. Subsequently, you will develop analytical reports and recommendations, linking these indicators.
Survey Development and Analysis
You will support the design and methodology of perception surveys. This includes sampling and questionnaire development. Additionally, you will oversee data collection, ensuring quality and ethical standards. Then, you will validate, clean, and analyze survey results using statistical techniques to draw conclusions.
Reporting and Communication of Findings
You will produce analytical reports summarizing key findings and trends. Moreover, you will prepare data briefs and infographics to communicate complex analyses clearly. Furthermore, you will contribute to policy recommendations and presentations for stakeholders.
Capacity Development and Knowledge Sharing
You will provide technical guidance and training on data analysis methods. This includes statistical software and interpreting governance indicators. Additionally, you will participate in workshops to share insights and best practices.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
All data analyses and reports must adhere to UNDP’s quality and ethical standards. You will also stay updated on relevant statistical techniques and software.
Support for Strategic Initiatives
You will support the development of an action plan for UNCAC implementation. Also, you will help develop terms of reference for corruption studies and oversee project deliverables.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Master’s in Law, Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related field (Bachelor’s with 7+ years experience considered).
- Experience: 5+ years (Master’s) or 7+ years (Bachelor’s) in research and qualitative/quantitative analysis.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Research experience within relevant organizations.
- Experience in sustainable finance (desirable).
- Proven data management skills.
- Experience with UN agencies (desirable).
- Experience analyzing national budgets (desirable).
- Experience in economic and financial modeling (desirable).
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software.
- Experience in research and report writing.
- Language: Excellent written and oral communication in Arabic and English.
